Many facts of the Great Patriotic War in the Arctic were hushed up for many years in the Soviet Union. The whole tragedy of the outbreak of war in the unprepared Russian north was described in the diaries of Admiral of the Northern Fleet Golovko, which are being restored now for publication by his son.

Daria Khrenova

Born on July 17, 1979, in Moscow, Daria Khrenova graduated from the All-Russian Institute of Cinematography after Gerasimov (VGIK) as a film director. She worked on Russian TV channels. In 2018, she held a series of lectures and film screenings at Fordham University (New York), Smith College, UMass (Amherst), Mount Holyoke College (South Hadley), and the Slavic Forum ASEEES (Boston). She is a member of the Union of Film Professionals of the Russian Federation and the Guild of Non-Fiction Cinema and TV. She is also the curator of the “New Doc” courses at Moscow Film School.
