Toni Carta (1928-2014) spends his childhood and adolescence growing up in a peasant family. His fascination with the rhythms and colors of rural life will lead him to convey images and symbols of it via his main vocation: painting. From the age of 16, he works as a laborer at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni, the pillar of Ferrovieri, a district of Vicenza. The suspended characters that pass through his paintings accompany us on a journey that illuminates about the sunset of rural culture. The quiet countryside village Contra’ Riva Alta will become I Ferrovieri, a bustling working-class suburb son of the capitalist industrial society.

Chiara Faggionato

Chiara Faggionato is an interdisciplinary artist, working in the field of video art, film and art in public space. She lives in Berlin, where she studied at the Master of Arts program of the Art in Context Institute at the Universität der Künste – UdK. Her artworks have been showcased internationally at exhibitions and festivals, where they were multiply awarded. Additionally, Chiara has extensive experience collaborating with institutions project-based, as a photographer, filmmaker, and director.
